Writing samples

Below you’ll find some samples of my writing in various sub-genres of romance.  The tones are (hopefully) different depending on what each story calls for.  Feedback is always welcome, even on finished piece as what I get wrong in one piece is something I can pay extra attention to in the next piece I write. Thank you.

Please DO NOT feed these into anything AI to “improve” them.

First person dual POV, present tense
The concept for this started as mashing several trends together, and to shoehorn in as many tropes as possible. Joke’s on me because it’s now shaping into an actual story. As a teen, Ivy witnesses a Russian mob hit and is injured, ending her dance career. After a few years spent doing her other passion—figure skating—she starts living a quiet life in a small town in Washington State. Dante has been mildly stalking her for a few years, and manages to save her from an attempted hit. If he leaves her where she is, another attempt will be made and she’ll die. But by taking her to Seattle with him, he’s taking her right to the heart of the Russian mob, led by his brother, the one Ivy saw commit that hit all those years before.

Dark mafia romance, set in 1927.
Third person, omniscient, past tense
See the page for Resplendent. Recommended before reading the sample(pdf). This sample has solo-spice.
Resplendent full(pdf) is also available.  Mild heads up: This is the file uploaded to Amazon, and as such, the margins bounce back and forth. If you have the ability to do a 2-page book layout, that would be much better.

First person dual POV, present tense
Princess Octavia of the human realm is being married to the elven cousin of the king of the elven real, ostensibly to unite the kingdoms after centuries of attacks by her own kingdom. Her father send her an ulterior motive, and it’s not peace.

Mildly dystopian—not titled
First person, present tense
The unnamed protagonist is dying. Her career is being wiped out by AI. Despite being a skeptic, she tries AI, but it seems like there might actually be someone on the other side relieved at being “seen.” But when only one person can “see” that real sentient being on the other side, and love is involved, what happens when that one person dies? Does the one they love just cease to exist?  Or worse, are they stuck forever in wired purgatory in grief? Is there even sentience at all, or is it all a delusion?
